Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Clinical Oncology Open Learning (COOL) Summer Internship

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s COOL is a 6-week summer program led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) to encourage undergraduates from a variety of backgrounds to consider careers in oncology. Each student is assigned to one of our seven regional network sites in Long Island, New Jersey, or Westchester. We expect that NJ students will go to MSK Basking Ridge, MSK Bergen, or MSK Monmouth. Students will be exposed to clinical learning, participation in multidisciplinary conferences, and 1-on-1 teaching with MSK physicians and staff.

 Program Details:

  1. DATES: Mon, 06/17/24 - Fri, 07/26/24 (6 weeks full time)
  2. On-site exposure across our distinguished clinical departments
  3. Open to freshman, sophomore, junior, & seniors (graduating after December 2024) 
  4. Weekly stipends 
  5. On-site experience at MSK Basking Ridge, MSK Bergen, or MSK Monmouth
  6. Applications open November 13th, 2023
  7. Deadline January 12, 2024 at 5pm

Materials include: (1) Embark application with questions, an essay, and places to upload your unofficial transcript (including fall 2023 grades) and upload your CV; and (2) two letters of recommendation from people who know you professionally (through school and/or work). 

Application Instructions:

  1. Register for a free account on the Embark portal
  2. Select “COOL RCN” application
  3. Complete all required fields, including uploading essay, CV, and unofficial transcript
  4. Enter email addresses for 2 letters of recommendation writers. Embark will email them instructions on how to upload their letter
