We were able to learn about the incorporation of metals, polymers, and ceramics into the human body, as well as their short-term and long-term effects. Additionally, we deeply discussed the incorporation of biomedical technology into the human body such as pacemakers, valve replacements, stents, implants, and other life-saving technology.

  • More About Me:

Hey all! My name is Amaan and I’m a Biomedical Engineering student at Rutgers University dedicated to pursuing a career in medicine through clinical experience, research, and community service. I currently work as a Clinical Care Technician in the Post-Cardiothoracic ICU at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where I assist with direct patient care and monitor critically ill patients. At the Rutgers Cancer Institute, I serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator, contributing to prostate cancer research focused on PSMA imaging and its impact on treatment decisions. I also mentor first-year students as an Engineering Peer Advisor, provide compassionate support as a senior volunteer at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, and promote academic excellence and cultural unity as the Scholarship Chair for Delta Sigma Iota Fraternity, Inc. In my free time, I love watching Formula 1, listening to music, and hitting the gym. As an HPO ambassador, feel free to ask me any questions about cold-emailing for research, resumé work, non-traditional pre-med majors, and the MCAT.
