WHAT IS A HPO COMMITTEE STATEMENT?
A committee statement provides a snapshot of you as a RU premedical or predental student within the context of your peers at Rutgers. It includes comparative evaluation of your strengths as an applicant based on both the information you provide as part of the committee interview application and the interview.
Last year, the HPO instituted a new, multi-step application process for committee statement support which will be used again this year. (Please note we will still support those who do not opt for, or qualify for, a committee statement by preparing a packet, upon request, of the letters in your HPOdrome account).
In order to participate in the committee interview/letter process you must complete all requirements of Part 1 and Part 2 of the process, as outlined below.
-You must have opened a file with the HPO by November 29, 2019. To open a HPO file, please stop by the Health Professions Office.
-You must attend a pre-application workshop and submit an INTENT TO APPLY by February 28, 2020 at 5pm. Even if you attended a workshop for last cycle, you will need to attend again. The workshops are mandatory for all who wish to participate in the committee interview/letter process. Intent to apply forms will only be available to those who attend the workshops. No exceptions to this or to deadlines.
Workshop dates will be offered throughout December, January, and February.
Here is a listing of the workshops (no signup is required except for last one February 26):

** Attendance at one workshop is mandatory if you wish to participate in the committee letter process in 2020
Those who attend a workshop, submit the intent to apply form and upload their resume to the HPOdrome before February 28, 2020 (using the required template - click here for resume template ) will be emailed a committee interview checklist and worksheet. Please be sure your uploaded HPO resume file name includes your name and the current date (ex: Elizabeth Vogel 02-28-2020).
As soon as you submit the HPO committee interview worksheet and all required letters of recommendation have been received by the HPO, you will be verified and placed on a waitlist. Interviews are first-come first served, and based on interviewer availability so the earlier you get everything in, the earlier you will be interviewed.
